Regeneration and Regrowth Forest

Regeneration

A regeneration forest is a forest at the beginning if its lifecycle, which has been re-established following a disturbance, such as a bushfire or forest harvesting.

Regrowth

Native forest containing a substantial proportion of trees that are in the younger growth phase and are actively growing in height and diameter.

Regrowth forests may contain scattered individuals or small occurrences of ecologically mature, or old growth, trees. (Source: www.daff.gov.au)
